With the Australian Federal election announced today, I think it’s fitting to update what the guy who wrote the best political show of all time is doing now.
I am of course talking about Aaron Sorkin, whose show The West Wing was one of the few reasons I got interested in politics (and it gave me and my friends plenty of drunken conversations as well).
Now he is involved with a number of big projects in Hollywood, including writing the script for Moneyball (based on the book on baseball), and just announced he will begin work on a John Edwards biopic (the politician who was outed as having an affair, not the guy who talks to dead people like someone thought when I told them!).
But before that, there is Facebook.
The Social Network is about Mark Zuckerberg, and how he created what is arguably the icon of the new social media. The trailer is quite interesting, as you can tell as soon as they start talking it sounds like a Sorkin production, and I think personally the song selected is brilliant. But look, see, and decide if you will ever see a film about Facebook.
